Like the current EV Evolve 30M, the Evolve 50M features an in-built Dynacord-powered mixer which can be controlled via the rear panel, or via a free app, the EV Quicksmart app, which works on both Apple iOS devices and Android devices.

Launched simultaneously in both black and white variants, the new Evolve 50M is a fantastic add on to a single standard Evolve, giving a fabulous-sounding PA system which is suitable for audiences around 200 people and with the ability to be completely controlled remotely.

Like the standard Evolve 50, the 50M features 2 x 500w rms power amplifiers, one driving the 12" sub, and the other driving the 8 x 3.5" drivers in the column, which are behind a waveguide giving true top end from each side of the array - everyone gets a great sound.

The Evolve 50 has always been a great choice for a band, but with the 50M the offering gets even better - you can use the 6 mic inputs on the back and control them from your mobile device. Need more channels? No problem, simply link a second Evolve 50M with an RJ45 network cable and both the Evolve's inputs can be controlled from the mobile app.

There's a full EQ, compressor and effects suite on the app, and you can download the EV Quicksmart app from the Apple App store or on Google play for free, and try it out in demo mode so you can be familiar with its use before purchasing.

It seems daunting to use an app if you are used to using a conventional mixer, but after half an hour you will be using it like a pro!
