The Gibson Robot Guitar Second Run
– The Self-Tuning Guitar Robot Guitar by Gibson USA –
Introducing the Gibson Robot Guitar, the world’s first guitar with robot
technology. Gibson’s Robot Guitar is the only guitar available with the
auto-tuning system described as “original equipment.”
How the Gibson Robot Guitar Works
The Gibson Robot Guitar is Unique in many ways, but the robotic Powerhead
Tuners that grace the headstock are extraordinary. Simply pull out the Master
Control Knob (MCK) and watch the Powerhead Tuners spring into action. It only
takes a few seconds for the Gibson’s Robot Powerhead Tuners to tune the guitar
to any desired tuning. Each tuning peg is equipped with a tiny but powerful
servo motor that kicks into action once the system is activated. The Powerhead
Tuners rely on the strings themselves to relay the signals. To boot the Gibson
Robot Powerhead Tuners weigh 15 grams less than a set of Gotch tuners, which is
another indication of the Robot Guitars true innovation. On the back of the
Robot Guitar headstock, tucked discretely between the Powerhead Locking, is
where you’ll find the Neck CPU. This genius little device is responsible for
receiving and processing the data signal from each individual string and feeding
it to the corresponding Powerhead Locking Tuners, which then tune the Robot
Guitar.
True to the spirit of innovation that inspired Gibson to invent the legendary
Tune-o-matic bridge, the powerful humbucker, and the revolutionary Digital Les
Paul, Gibson proudly presents the Gibson Robot Guitar - the world's first guitar
with robotic technology.
