Product details
The Evolution humbucker is the result of years of research to come up with the right sound for a very demanding player -- Steve Vai. This pickup is designed for maximum impact and power. The sound is tight, aggressive and loud. The design incorporates our patented dual-resonance coil configuration that senses more harmonic overtones than ordinary humbuckers.
Recommended For:
The Evo neck model will work in almost all solid-bodies and most semi-hollow bodies as well.
Tech Talk:
Obviously, the Evolution was designed for Steve's Ibanez Jems, but it can add a lot of punch and definition to Lp style and similar set-neck guitars - even the lowest bass notes really jump out of the amp, and feedback occurs easily with a wide range of harmonic overtones.

F-spacing refers to a wider spacing between pole pieces available upon request at no extra charge on all full-sized humbuckers. For proper string alignment and balanced output, F-spaced humbuckers should be used in the bridge position on all guitars with string spacing of 2.1" (53 mm) or greater. This applies to most guitars with tremolos, as well as many newer fixed-bridge instruments. On guitars with a nut width of 1-11/16" (43 mm) or greater, F-spaced pickups can be used in the neck position as well.
