Product details
The Babicz range of guitars are a major departure to established thinking on
the design of acoustic guitars, and this is most obvious in the striking design
of the guitars. Why are they designed like this? To fully go in to the whys and
wherefores, it is better to visit www.babiczguitars.com where Jeff Babicz
explains his design philosophy, but in a nutshell, the "spider" string design
stops the "bellying" of the soundboard over time, which would mean removal of
the bridge, filing it down and re-fitting it, a lengthy process.
The "spider" design, patented by Babicz, stops this happening. In addition,
the soundboard can be braced less and this contributes to an "aliveness" of the
guitar that is not found on guitars of this price range.
Another feature of the Babicz guitars is the parallel action neck adjustment.
In essence you can adjust the action, on the fly, whilst you are playing, thanks
to an allen key slot at the back of the guitar at the base of the neck. So you
can go from and electric guitar type action, to a flat-picking set up in
seconds.
